When you call a suicide hot line do they call 911 if they believe youre in danger?

I’ve had serious thoughts of suicide all yesterday and today, I’m afraid of actually going through with it today. I have a plan all set, including a bottle of pills and I’m terrified of doing it tonight. I have no one to speak to about anything, and I just feel hopeless. I feel like calling but I don’t want them to call anyone and admit me to a hospital or anything as such.

I have called suicide hotlines in the past and they will call 911 on you if you have already overdosed or if you have a clear plan on hurting yourself. However, they don’t tell you that they’re sending you help. They don’t even put you on hold. They keep you talking while a coworker calls 911 , gives them your phone number, because the hotlines have Caller ID and than 911 traces your phone call and sends the police and ambulance to your house.

I’ve had this happen to me. And the first time it happened, by the time the police and ambulance got here I was unconscious from the overdose and taken to the hospital where I was in a coma in the Intensive Care Unit. Another time that they came over, I was so angry at the hotline, that I called them back and told them off and than the police still made me go to the hospital and I was restrained to the stretcher and it was a nightmare.
